Part-time or full-time GP

We are looking for a motivated GP to work part-time or full-time, who has an interest either in becoming a Partner or to work as a Salaried GP. We have a dynamic and relatively young staff, many of whom see their role as a vocation. A few of our management team are dedicated Christians.

We have two contrasting patient populations served from our two modern surgeries in Crawley. The town centre population generally has lower deprivation scores with many ethnic minorities; our other surgery serves a relatively middle class and affluent population. Medicine at either can be very rewarding, but for different reasons. We have recently moved into a new town centre surgery, which is the reason for our recent growth in patient numbers, now 17,000.

We are looking to be innovative with the services we provide including the possibility of starting a GP chaplaincy, working with a new HTB church plant across the road from our town centre site, and providing a variety of new services to meet the needs of some of these vulnerable patients. We also have a Christian Mental Health Nurse in our team who does a fantastic job with many of our mental health patients. She liaises closely with the CCG and charities about provision of other services for these patients.

We are a GP training practice. We also provide medical services to the local Immigrant Removal Centres near Gatwick Airport which adds variety, challenge and an occasional patient with an interesting tropical disease. Many of these patients are in need of a caring physician. There is good support from the on-site RMNs.

We have a number of innovative ways of working to try and keep our workload efficient and manageable including administrative and clinical assistance with much of the paperwork, e.g. letters received, referrals that need to be made, repeat medication re-authorisation and test results management. We have used Physician Associates/Assistants and Extended-role nurses for many years. We have a young patient population and relatively few visits.

Crawley is surrounded by beautiful countryside in the Weald with ready access to the sea, the Downs and London. There are excellent schools close by.
