Our main fundraising event for 2008 is the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge. CMF students and staff will be tackling the three peaks of Whernside, Ingleborough and Pen-Y-Gent in around 12 hours on Saturday 9 August. We're planning to make it a great weekend of fun and fellowship as well as fundraising!

The challenge involves walking around 25 miles up and down the three peaks in a circular route. It doesn't involve climbing – just walking. You can see some more on the challenge itself here.

The CMF Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge has its own Facebook event.

When? 8-10 August. We have accommodation booked for the evening of the 8th, will do the walk on the 9th and stay over again, then clear up and head off on the morning of the 10th.

Where? The three peaks are clustered around the village of Ribblehead, near Ingleton off the A65 in North Yorkshire.

Accommodation is at the Station Inn, Ribblehead, LA6 3AS. This will be in self-catering bunkhouses. See their website.

How much? The cost for the weekend is £30, which includes food and accommodation.

How will I get there? Parking is available at the bunkhouses. For driving advice and directions see the AA website. Ribblehead station is on the Leeds-Carlisle line (about an hour from Leeds).

How do I book my place? We need firm bookings by Friday 18 July in order to secure accommodation and give you time to raise the sponsorship income. Use the downloadable application form to book your place!

Any queries? Contact Matt Stammers or Mark Pickering.

What next? Once you've booked your place, get yourself set up with a fundraising page, and see if you can encourage some other friends from medical school to join your team!
