Mental Capacity Act

The Mental Capacity Act has now been passed by Parliament. There are concerns about the Bill and the effect it will have on treatment for mentally incapacitated patients - particularly in relation to feeding and hydration. Getting Involved: Bill now passed
The Mental Capacity Bill was finally passed by the UK Parliament on 5 April 2005. The Codes of Practice are not yet finished. Pray for the development of these, which will set principles for the day to day implementation of the Act. The final act can be viewed online at Her Majesty's Stationery Office website.
