Dhaka Hospital, ICDDR,B became a refuge for the neediest in Bangladesh, offering treatment that would otherwise be beyond their means. In addition to treating those immediately in need of care, the hospital also provides the research opportunities and information scientists need to battle enteric diseases on a larger scale. It is an urban hospital with140,000 inpatients per year.

Electives - offer electives for final year medical students. Special focus of hospital include HIV, diarrhorea, repiratory, Nutrition and ICU.

Lamb hospital is a Christian 150-bed hospital in a rural area which focuses on serving the poor and underprivileged, especially women and children. Has a special interest in Medicine, paeds and obs/gynea department, the latter is the biggest.

Asha works in the urban slums of Delhi and covering over 50 slum colonies and catering to a population of about 400,000 people. Asha has a comprehensive health programme specifically focusing expectant mothers, new borns, children under 5 years. They also have reproductive health programmes for men and women, programme to screen and treat the TB patients, screening of specific health problems of the elderly and the like.

Asha Kiran hospital is a 45 bedded facility manned by doctors mainly from south India who feel called to spread the love of Christ by their work amongst the poorest of the poor of India. It incorporates ICU, Surgical facilities for maxillo-facial, ophthalmology & general surgery, Paediatrics, Obstetrics and gynaecology, General medicine and Dentistry.

Electives - Offers medical student elective placements involving mainly ward and outpatient work, with opportunities to assist with minor procedures and on labour ward. The language barrier creates some restrictions in the amount of hands-on clinical work students can do.

Bethany Medical Centre is situated in the Anaikatty hills on the border of Tamil Nadu and Kerala, and cares for about 150 villages with a with a large population of socially deprived tribal people. Due to the specialist services in Cardiology, General Surgery, and Maternity departments, they are a referral centre for patients from nearby cities.

Catherine Booth is a 300-bed general hospital including special departments in medicine, surgery, paediatrics, ophthalmology, obstetrics, orthopaedics. There is an associated nurses' training school and community health department. Nearby there are Salvation Army vocational training centres for physically handi­capped. LANDOUR community hospital serves the deprived village communities living in the mountains of Mussoorie, Dehradun District. The hill people are very poor and live at a subsistence level with a high infant mortality and maternal mortality rates, compounded by malnutrition and tuberculosis. The hospital offers acute obstetrics and surgical care supplemented with orthopedic and trauma care.

Green Pastures Hospital was founded in 1957 as a part of the mission activities of the International Nepal Fellowship.  Over the years it has developed a reputation for the highest standard of care for leprosy sufferers.  Today in addition to the care and rehabilitation of leprosy sufferers Green Pastures specializes in the care and rehabilitation of patients suffering from spinal cord injuries.

Papua New Guinea

Kapuna Hospital is hidden deep in the jungle swamps of Papua New Guinea. Clinging tenaciously to the banks of the crocodile-infested Wame River, a tributary of the mighty Purari River, Kapuna is the only hospital within paddling distance for 30,000 PNG locals. Kikori Hospital is located on the southwest peninsula of Papua New Guinea (PNG), near the capital city of Port Moresby. The region is marked by tropical forest, and the hospital is on the banks of the Purari River.

Hospital has special focus on community health worker training and community iprovement which the student can participate in as well in a range of other areas.

Nazarene Hospital is one facet of health services provided through Nazarene Health Ministries, the others being the Community Based Health Care Program and Nazarene College of Nursing. The Hospital provides a full range of services, including:100 inpatient beds, Surgery, Pediatric, Ob/Gyn, and Medical Services, 24 hour Emergency Department, Laboratory and Xray, Pharmacy, Primary Health Service, including STD, TB, leprosy programs.

Opportunities for final year students to participate in a wide range of areas, including TB, congenital clubfoot and cervical cancer.

Rumginae hospital is a rural hospital with 60 beds which is part of the Evangelical Church of Papua New Guinea’s health service. Supports about 15 smaller clinics. Trains community health workers on a 2 year programme based at Rumginae. Acts as a referral hospital for the clinics in the bush. Provides emergency and inpatient care.

Placements of 6 weeks minimum, students can participate in ward rounds, clinics, assisting in theatre as well as opportunities to visit mobile clinics, immunisation visits as well as teaching and spiritual ministry. Apply via UFM Worldwide.

The New Tribes Mission Medical Clinic is a small outpatient clinic in the Highlands of PNG. We treat local villagers and ex-pats. We have a full functioning lab, pharmacy, physical therapy and x-ray. We are staffed with Western trained doctors and nurses. We have 2 beds in our emergency room and 3 other routine exam rooms.

Students will have the opportunity to carry out evaluations and procedures as available.

Solomon Islands

Helena Goldie Hospital (HGH) is a rural, second level care hospital with 68 beds, serving  a population of over 26,000 within Zone 3 of Western Province, Solomon Islands. HGH works closely with Western Provincial Health Services and with the Ministry of Health of Solomon Islands Government.

Thailand

The Kwai River Christian Hospital (KRCH) is located in Kanchanaburi Province, Thailand and is a public health and community service center serving a mountainous rural area along Thailand's border with Myanmar (also called Burma) since 1960. In addition to providing critical medical care for thousands of people who would otherwise have none, this facility also serves as an important research facility for AFRIMS (Armed Forces Research Institute of Medical Science). Focusing on tropical diseases, the research on infectious diseases performed here is of worldwide significance.

Final year students can assist with ward rounds and participate in TB clinics. Exposure to TB, malaria, AIDS.

Mae Tao Clinic has grown to a large complex of simple buildings that provide a wide variety of health services to different groups of people. Today, it serves a target population of approximately 150,000 on the Thai-Burma border. MTC also promotes general health through partnerships with other community-based organisations.
