CMF eNewsletter 2012 #6

Published: 31st May 2012

Connecting members

In the next week you will receive a letter from Pablo Fernandez, CMF Head of Graduate Ministries, inviting you to serve as a CMF link in your workplace, locality, church, deanery or foundation school. We want to identify CMF members in each region who will serve the fellowship by connecting Christian doctors. Please pray and respond as you can.

Crucial GMC consultation – please respond

A consultation on the GMC guidance on Personal Beliefs and Medical Practice closes on 13 June. The draft guidance clamps down further on faith discussions in the consultation and imposes more restrictions on conscience issues. It is very important that Christian doctors have their say. Please read our analysis and advice, then respond.

CMF – an introduction for churches

We have produced a new video for churches to find out more about CMF. Share it with your church or home group. View or download here.

New for 2012: International Mission Fair 7-9pm, 27 June 2012 at Oak Hill College, North London. An exhibition by mission organisations for all healthcare workers exploring or supporting work overseas. Come and meet with mission agencies and participants of the CMF Developing Health Course as you explore opportunities to serve.

Marriage consultation deadline

The deadline for the Government's consultation on same-sex 'marriage' is 14 June. You can have your say via Christian Concern or the Coalition for Marriage website.

General Committee – 14 July

CMF's annual General Committee meeting is taking place on Saturday 14 July at Johnson House. All CMF members are welcome to attend. If you would like to come, please contact Gwen Gowers.

Appeal update

Thank you to all who have generously donated to our 3-year Development Fund appeal to raise £700,000. To meet our goals for ministry we still need to raise £386,000. Visit our website to donate.

Team support

The CMF staff team pray regularly for members during daily staff devotions at Johnson House. We also produce individual prayer letters for associate staff workers. If you would like to receive these prayer letters three times a year please contact us.

Miracles in Madagascar

CMF member Victoria Parsonson shares with us some amazing stories of God's provision and protection as she serves in a small field hospital in Madagascar. Read more here.
