Mission & Outreach

One of CMFs aims is to mobilise and support Christian doctors, medical students, and other healthcare professionals, especially members, in serving Christ throughout the world - including the UK. The overseas mission team at CMF is known as HealthServe and provides a range of support and information services for those with an interest in using their skills in developing nations. CMF also aims to equip and encourage its members in the UK so see outreach as a privilege for every Christian, whatever work they do.

Isa Masih
Isa Masih
Isa Masih, meaning 'Jesus the Messiah', was published from July 1996 - April 1999. These back issues contain news from the Muslim world and resources for Christian students who are working towards bringing the good news of Jesus the Messiah to Muslims in universities and other tertiary institutions worldwide. It is our hope and prayer that in studying these pages Christian students will be better informed about Islam and better prepared to give an account of their own faith. Muslims are also welcome to read these pages and respond to the material. We pray that through these pages those who are sincerely seeking after the truth will come to know God himself through Jesus Christ.

Confident Christianity
Confident Christianity
The apostles shared their faith in words people understood, in an environment where their hearers felt comfortable, and with opportunity for discussion. So should we!!  Confident Christianity is a one-day evangelism training course that employs just these principles. Since 1989 over 2,000 doctors, medical students and others have benefited from over 60 day conferences throughout the UK and beyond. All the course material is available here. There are currently no new dates planned.

The material in this pack was originally assembled by Dr Peter May and Dr Peter Short (both Southampton GPs) for a series of Training Conferences organised by the Christian Medical Fellowship for medical students in 1989. Over 300 students attended the series which led to a programme of Dialogue Evangelism in the Autumn Term of '89 when over 1000 medical students in Britain were engaged in dialogue about the Christian Faith. This was achieved through a series of lunches and suppers, held in conjunction with the distribution of an evangelistic booklet called 'The Greatest Person?'

The original material has since been expanded and revised for a series of Day Conferences throughout 1993 under the title 'Confident Christianity'. Although assembled with medical students in mind, it has no primary reference to medicine and can stand on its own as an introduction to the challenge and difficulties of engaging in dialogue about Christianity today.
