CMF-KLICE Summer School 2013

Serving Christ in Secular Medicine
cambridge

This two day summer school will be held in the peaceful surroundings of Tyndale House, Cambridge. It is intended primarily for Christian medical students, junior doctors, and others engaged in healthcare, who wish to think together about serving Christ faithfully and the ethical challenges in contemporary medicine. We will begin to develop together the tools we will need if we are to rise to the challenges of Christian presence and mission in medicine today, seeking to learn what John Stott called the skill of double listening – to the world and to the Word of God.

Faculty includes:

  • Prof John Wyatt, Recently retired Professor of Ethics and Perinatology, University College London and author of Matters of Life and Death: Human dilemmas in the light of the Christian Faith
  • Revd Dr Andrew Goddard, Associate Director of KLICE
  • Giles Cattermole, Head of Student Ministries, CMF

Timings:

The official programme will start on Monday morning and finish on Tuesday afternoon. For those who would like to arrive on Sunday evening, accommodation and an informal meal (at own expense) will be arranged.

Bookings and bursaries:

The fee for the summer school will be £168.50 per person. This includes accommodation for Monday night with breakfast, the course itself including reading material, lunches, tea, coffee and light refreshments and a 2-course supper on Wednesday as we dine out as a group in order to continue our discussions (drinks not included). Accommodation will be at Newnham College, a 2-minute walk from Tyndale House. A second night's accommodation can be provided for an additional £33.50. If you wish to arrange your own accommodation and breakfast the fee will be reduced to £135. Bookings need to be made directly with KLICE

Bursaries are available to CMF student members. Please contact Giles for a bursary application form. We do not want anyone to be prevented from coming simply because of the cost!
