CMF exists to unite and equip Christian doctors and medical students to live and speak for Jesus. In doing this, local networks are essential. Although membership of the local church is vital, doctors often need to talk and pray with others who understand the challenges of medicine. Our current priority is, therefore, to strengthen and support these grassroots networks and relationships.
You will have read Peter Saunders' article in the latest CMF News, introducing the new focus on workplace and local support networks. Extensive consultation at all levels has helped shape the details of this new strategy to respond to the expressed needs of our members for better personal connections and support.
Our aim is to have a CMF link person for every workplace, locality, church, deanery, foundation school and medical school where there are Christian doctors.
The focus is not on meetings but relationships – knowing other Christian doctors and introducing them to each other and to CMF – and the new roles are planned to be limited, specific, focused and manageable for busy people.
Our new database will facilitate this by giving all members a personalised page on the website with the ability to connect with other members easily and securely.
We now need to recruit volunteers for these positions. Please prayerfully consider how you could help to launch and develop a network where you live or work.
I would therefore be grateful if you could let me know which specific role(s) amongst the following you would like to fulfil and for where.
In order to make this process work, we need to have accurate and up to date contact details from every member in our database. Please ensure your own details are correct by filling in this online form and indicate if you want to volunteer by ticking the appropriate box in it.
