Rwanda Legacy of Hope is still searching for volunteers who are:Orthopaedists, neurosurgeons, gynaecologists, general surgeons, cardiologists and cardio surgeons who can stay from 10 days to 12 months. Depending on your choice of volunteering duration, Rwanda Legacy of Hope can provide medical licences, accommodation, food and transport in Rwanda to all volunteers.
Rwanda Legacy of Hope (RLOH) is a Christian Registered charity in UK and Rwanda founded by diaspora genocide survivor Rwandan born Reverend Osee Ntavuka living in Plymouth UK, who is proud to continue to be a partner in the continuing development and building his country, particularly in the Health and Education sector.
Rwanda-Legacy of Hope has been operating in Rwanda since 2012. Our stated aim is to provide high quality sustainable medical care to relieve suffering from the burden of disease in Rwanda and to train local doctors, nurses and other healthcare workers.
Since 2012 Rwanda Legacy of Hope has provided 54 specialist Consultant surgeon volunteers in ENT, neurosurgery, plastic surgery, orthopaedics and Hernia Consultant Anaesthetists, along with nurses, working in 10 hospitals in Rwanda. In addition to this RLOH has provided hernia training for local doctors and donated appropriate medical equipment to each hospital they worked with, also providing basic health insurance of £5/year to each of 200 patients.CPD certificate was given to all trainees.
