Most people are not aware that after the wars in Syria and Iraq, most refugees are harboured in neighbouring countries such as Lebanon. According to official UN data, Lebanon is accepting 252 refugees per 10,000 inhabitants. In this humanitarian crisis, basic needs such as medical care are urgent.
We are looking for:Lectures on culture, history, tension in the area, religious conflicts, extremism, and special health needs, are combined with medical outreaches to Syrian refugees and excursions to the sites of Lebanon, such as the cedars of God, downtown Beirut, Tyre, etc.
Collaboration with local churches and Christian organisations. Working facilities vary from individually set up cellars to health care centres. Departments: paediatrics, family medicine, internal medicine, ophthalmology, obstetrics-gynaecology, psychiatry, dentistry.Team: specialist(s), junior doctor(s), student(s) and translator.
Nurses and other professionals can be helpful with referring patients to the right specialist, measuring heart rate/blood pressure, logistics, arranging kids' programs, spiritual counselling, etc.
