Dhaka Hospital, ICDDR,B
Dhaka Hospital, ICDDR,B became a refuge for the neediest in Bangladesh, offering treatment that would otherwise be beyond their means. In addition to treating those immediately in need of care, the hospital also provides the research opportunities and information scientists need to battle enteric diseases on a larger scale. It is an urban hospital with140,000 inpatients per year.

Electives - offer electives for final year medical students. Special focus of hospital include HIV, diarrhorea, repiratory, Nutrition and ICU.

LAMB Hospital
Lamb hospital is a Christian 150-bed hospital in a rural area which focuses on serving the poor and underprivileged, especially women and children. Has a special interest in paediatrics and obs/gynea department, the latter is the biggest.

Asha works in the urban slums of Delhi and covering over 91 slum colonies and catering to a population of about 700,000 people. Asha has a comprehensive health programme specifically focusing expectant mothers, new borns, children under 5 years. They also have reproductive health programmes for men and women, programme to screen and treat the TB patients, screening of specific health problems of the elderly and the like.

Asha Kiran hospital is a 45 bedded facility manned by doctors mainly from south India who feel called to spread the love of Christ by their work amongst the poorest of the poor of India. It incorporates ICU, Surgical facilities orthopaedic, ophthalmology & general surgery, Paediatrics, Obstetrics and gynaecology, General medicine, Psychiatry and Dentistry.

Electives - Offers medical student elective placements involving mainly ward and outpatient work, with opportunities to assist with minor procedures and on labour ward. The language barrier creates some restrictions in the amount of hands-on clinical work students can do.

Bangalore Baptist Hospital is a tertiary level Christian Mission hospital with all major specialties serving a population in great need. They have a large community presence in North Bangalore and with a heavy focus on primary care and education


Opportunities include assisting in theatre, plastic surgery, shadowing during outpatient consultations and community outreach at Baptist Hospital

Bethany Medical Centre is situated in the Anaikatty hills on the border of Tamil Nadu and Kerala, and cares for about 150 villages with a with a large population of socially deprived tribal people. Due to the specialist services in Cardiology, General Surgery, and Maternity departments, they are a referral centre for patients from nearby cities.

Catherine Booth is a 300-bed general hospital including special departments in medicine, surgery, paediatrics, ophthalmology, obstetrics, orthopaedics. There is an associated nurses' training school and community health department. Nearby there are Salvation Army vocational training centres for physically handi­capped. This is a 107 year old mission Hospital founded by the Wesleyan Missionaries from UK. It has grown to a 300 bed multispecialty hospital serving 85,000 outpatients and 15,000 inpatients each year. It has four operating theatres where challenging cases referred from hospitals in and around Mysore are taken up. We receive every patient irrespective of caste, color, creed or disease. The Christian Medical College Vellore Association is a private inter-denominational Christian organisation. The objective of the Association is to establish, maintain and develop a Christian Medical College in India where women and men receive education in the art and science of Medicine, Nursing or allied professions, to equip them in the spirit of Christ, for service in the relief of suffering and the promotion of health.

The clinical posting will be organized by the respective departments. The posting will consist of outpatient clinics, ward rounds, bedside clinical teaching, academic sessions, lectures, and operation theatre. You will be allowed to work up patients by yourselves with permission of the treating physician and the patient. You will not be allowed to prescribe and perform procedures.

United Mission Hospital Tansen has 400 Nepali Employees (including trainees) and 10 mission appointees from six different countries, who work mostly as senior doctors in a teaching role, or in other support roles. The rotations we can offer are on medical, pediatrics, maternity, general surgery, orthopedic surgery and anesthesia. We have 169 beds, and see about 100,000 outpatients a year. We are still a mostly general type hospital.

Kapuna Hospital is hidden deep in the jungle swamps of Papua New Guinea. Clinging tenaciously to the banks of the crocodile-infested Wame River, a tributary of the mighty Purari River, Kapuna is the only hospital within paddling distance for 30,000 PNG locals. Kikori Hospital is located on the southwest peninsula of Papua New Guinea (PNG), near the capital city of Port Moresby. The region is marked by tropical forest, and the hospital is on the banks of the Purari River.

Hospital has special focus on community health worker training and community iprovement which the student can participate in as well in a range of other areas.

Trains community health workers on a 2 year programme based at Rumginae. Acts as a referral hospital for the clinics in the bush. Provides emergency and inpatient care.
