Equipment & Logistics

A toolkit for medical equipment donations - Making It Work by THET
Hospitals in many low-income countries rely significantly on donations of medical equipment. These donations are made with the best of intentions, however, the outcomes are not always positive. This toolkit produced by THET includes good practice guidance for each stage of the donation process, from initial discussions between donor and recipient about what is required to after donated equipment arrives, is installed and ready for use.

Brass Tacks is a registered charity set up in the UK in 1986 to provide practical support for Christian projects and general missionary work. Their objectives are to relieve missionaries and full time Christian workers of their maintenance and building work: to build new or extend existing schools, camps, church buildings, children's homes, hospitals and recording studios; to encourage Christians by involving them in mission work

Supply high-quality, low cost pulse oximeters for hospitals in resource-poor settings. Their oximeters cost $250 and come with training materials
Med-Aid is a UK based organisation. We provide hospitals in the developing world with good quality, useful equipment no longer needed by hospitals in Europe. Each year millions of pounds of equipment is thrown away by hospitals - surgical equipment, beds, even operating tables. Some of it is broken and of no use to anyone but a large proportion is perfectly serviceable and far superior to the equipment used by our partners in Africa. Everything that we send out is in working order, and we check that it is right for the doctors and nurses who will receive it. In this way, for little more than the cost of transport, items that would become landfill waste in the UK go on to save lives for many more years in places where they are needed and appreciated. We are always on the lookout for supplies of equipment and can arrange to collect donations. If you think you might be able to help, or know of someone who might, then please contact us. We are also very happy to receive financial contributions towards the cost of shipping the equipment.
