EMMA are pleased to announce that our 12th short-term medical mission will take place in Uganda next February from the 1st to the 16th. Previously, we have worked elsewhere in Africa (Kenya, Ghana and Liberia) and in Asia (India and Sumatra).
The invitation has come jointly from Ugandan evangelists Bruno Musana and Ruth Kirabo, and the mission trip will be facilitated by Martin West, an English street pastor who has worked in Uganda as an evangelist annually for the past decade. Having worked with Bruno and Martin in Uganda previously, I very much look forward to our first medical mission together.
As ever, a mixed medical team is sought. In the past, teams have comprised GPs and hospital doctors, dentists, nurses, physios and OTs. Applications from other specialities are warmly invited - and we usually work together with local medics. Non-medics are also most welcome, assisting us with logistics and being part of the vital prayer team, working alongside the medics.
By day, we will be doing medical clinics in Bukedea, Kibuku and Mukono. By night, we will reach out evangelistically in various culturally-appropriate ways.
A training weekend is planned for the first weekend in December.
