Leaving a legacy to CMF in your will

Every one of us could make a long list of people who have influenced, encouraged, and supported us at vital times in life - parents, teachers, friends, spouse, and colleagues. When we look back we see how they modelled good values and practices, leaving a positive legacy for us to build on.

We do not take this priceless investment for granted! For nearly 75 years the Christian Medical Fellowship (CMF) has been investing in Christian doctors, nurses, midwives, and students. The ways in which we have done this have changed over the years, but the heart of CMF has always been to:

• Grow authentic disciples of Jesus in healthcare.
• Encourage praying Christian communities in every healthcare setting.
• Advance global partnerships to bring healing and wholeness to every nation.
• Walk with Christian health professionals throughout their careers.
• Advocate for the marginalised and promote Christian values in healthcare.

The work of CMF helps to maintain a strong Christian presence in healthcare. We want this work to continue and grow for many years to come. But to do this we need your help.

We invite you to remember the work of CMF when making your will. Leaving a gift to CMF is a wonderful way to ensure that future generations benefit from our ministry. It doesn't matter how large or small your gift is. Whatever you give is an expression of thanksgiving for what you have received through CMF and an investment in maintaining a Christian witness in healthcare in the future.

Every legacy, large or small, will enable us to continue our work. Your legacy will be carefully used for recruiting, resourcing, and supporting a new generation of Christian doctors, nurses, and students. We would encourage you not to place any restrictions on how your legacy can be used so that we can use your gift where the need is greatest. Here are some examples of how we can use your legacy:

• £500 would help an international medical student or junior doctor travel to our annual week-long Sydenham Conference. Many students and juniors have gone back from this to play significant roles in developing their own CMF movements.
• £3,000 would help us publish more excellent study resources such as John Wyatt's Matters of Life and Death or Peter Saunders' The Human Journey that have educated and inspired many of our members.
• £25,000 would help us to employ a full-time student worker for a year, enabling them to provide vital discipleship and inspiration to students through speaking, writing and mentoring.

But the first step is simply to make a will or add a codicil to an existing will to include a legacy gift to CMF.
