Easter greetings
As doctors we like to base our decisions on evidence and at CMF we work hard to produce evidence-based research and resources. Nearly 2,000 years ago, when Jesus' first followers found his tomb empty after the crucifixion, no evidence could be produced to counter the disciples' claim: 'He is risen!' Neither the Roman soldiers nor the religious leaders of the day could disprove the resurrection and his many subsequent appearances confirmed it to over 500 people (1 Corinthians 15:3-8). This Easter, with millions of believers around the world, we can join the chorus of history: 'Christ is risen! He is risen indeed!' May the truth of Christ's death and resurrection continue to transform you as we celebrate the fact that our Lord Jesus died and rose for each one of us (Peter Saunders)

Deadline for BMA Council elections
Please pray for the BMA Council elections. Ballot papers must be returned by Friday 13 April. Four CMF members (Elizabeth Lee, Atef Markos, Kitty Mohan and Nicholas Deakin) and one Catholic Medical Association member (Kevin O'Kane) are standing. The council plays a decisive role in shaping the policies, actions and direction of the Association.
CMF and the media
Since the start of the year CMF members have featured on over 100 different radio or television programmes talking about a range of subjects from a Christian and medical perspective. Topics have included caring for elderly people, NHS reforms, selective reduction in IVF, the Falconer Commission, the Tony Nicklinson Case and alternative therapies. www.cmf.org.ukmedia
BBC Radio 4 to feature CMF member's daughter
Martin Scott-Brown is a Consultant Oncologist and CMF member. His daughter Millie, born with holoprosencephaly, lived for 22 months. Her life challenged many pre-conceived ideas about disability, unconditional love and the meaning of life. A documentary on Millie is to be broadcast on BBC Radio 4 on Monday 30 April at 8pm.
Marriage
The Coalition for Marriage, which has the support of CMF, hopes to have 400,000 signatures on its petition by Easter. Visit www.c4m.org.uk to keep up to date.

Christian Medical Fellowship (CMF) was founded in 1949 and is an interdenominational organisation with over 5,000 doctors, 900medical and nursing students and 300 nurses and midwives as members in all branches of medicine, nursing and midwifery. A registered charity, it is linked to over 100 similar bodies in other countries throughout the world.
CMF exists to unite Christian healthcare professionals to pursue the highest ethical standards in Christian and professional life and to increase faith in Christ and acceptance of his ethical teaching.
