Open Day soon

After a most encouraging Service of Thanksgiving and Dedication on Sunday 14 October, our new home at 6 Marshalsea Road, London SE1 1HL will again be open from 10am-4pm on Saturday 3 November. You'd be very welcome to drop in for a look round and updates. There is another day planned for Saturday 23 February 2008.

Autumn appeal – thank you!

Thank you all for the £104,000 (including Gift Aid) received so far. Budget setting is looming and £200,000 would let us plan confidently for next year.

Job opportunities at CMF

Having successfully managed a year of change, Joshua Wathanga will be leaving by 31December so we are urgently looking for a Head of Finance and Administration. We also need a full time Database and IT Manager. If you know anybody suitable, please pass this on. Closing dates 24 October.

Opportunities overseas

Opportunities overseas always exist. If relevant for yourself or others, keep an eye on the HealthServe website.

Healthcare Sunday

Healthcare Sunday is always held on the Sunday closest to St Luke's Day. This year it is next Sunday, 21 October.

Abortion controversies

CMF's written evidence to the House of Commons Science and Technology Committee caused critical comment in The Independent on Tuesday 16 October, while members giving oral evidence came under even more fire in The Guardian on Monday though the letters page next day redressed the balance. Chris Richards, John Wyatt and Peter Saunders were witnesses, with only two other pro-life voices among the 18 giving evidence.

40th Anniversary of Abortion Act

Saturday 27 October marks the 40th anniversary of the passing of the 1967 Act. '40 years. 6.7 million abortions. Time for change!' is the slogan for a new network trying to turn the tide on abortion. See 'news and events' on the Time for Change! website. Do sign up to come to one of the events around the country and pray for Peter Saunders speaking at the main ecumenical service in Westminster Cathedral.
