Last year student leadership training took place online because of Covid restrictions on face-to-face conferences. Now that Covid restrictions have largely been lifted, we look forward to offering a student leadership training track again at the national conference - see below:
Next training weekend - 29 April - 1 May 2022
The weekend aims to encourage and train medical students who are leading (or about to start leading) local CMF medical school groups. There are two free places for each medical school, but if there are others in leadership roles (eg, committee members) who would like to come, they can attend at the reduced student rate (£90 in previous years). You will have a great opportunity to mix with junior and graduate doctors from around the country as well as hearing Bible teaching by a well-known speaker. Please contact the Student Coordinator for more information about booking a place.
The main role of the student link is to be a point of contact between Christian medics at their university, local doctors and CMF generally. In most cases, they'll also be the 'organisers' of the local group. Our new leaders' handbook, and the training itself, concentrate on what it means to connect Christian medics together, as well as what sort of programmes will help people best learn and serve, and enthuse and equip people to live and speak for Jesus in medicine.
