Electives
An elective is a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in global health and mission work, which we encourage you to take advantage of during your training, especially if you feel you would like to explore working outside the UK in the future. While CMF is unable to offer financial support for electives, we do provide a wealth of resources that will help you plan and reflect on your elective experience.
On this page, you’ll find a selection of elective reports from students who have already completed placements in various settings, offering insights into their experiences. Additionally, we provide a list of organisations and hospitals that have previously supported students through the elective process.
CMF hosts regular ‘Planning your Elective’ evenings online, where you can receive guidance from those who have already been through the process, and ask any questions you may have. The next session is on 9 March 2026. Register now.
