Doctors are leaders in their workplaces, their local communities, and often in their churches. If you’re a Christian and a doctor, you will know the great responsibility, challenge and opportunity you have. Even into retirement, you will often take on responsibilities and continue to lead in other contexts. CMF’s networks around the UK allow you to connect with others, support juniors, and find peers who can support and encourage you, whatever your career stage.
The training years are a decisive time for you. Transitioning from a study to work, moving town or region, taking on clinical responsibilities, and choosing and training in a specialty can all be stressful, especially when this is often without the familiar support networks of friends, CU, or church. CMF helps you share the journey with others facing the same challenges and those who’ve been there and know what you’re going through.
So, you want to integrate your faith and your profession, connect with others who share your passions, and learn how to handle tricky ethical issues? Well, it doesn’t happen ‘just like that’. It takes time. As the old African proverb goes, if you want to walk fast, walk alone, but if you want to walk far, travel with others. Working at the interface of Christianity, healthcare, and public policy, CMF seeks to empower and equip our members to advocate for the vulnerable and for Christian values in the public square. CMF runs on volunteers! Our small staff team do a lot, but they could not achieve all that CMF does regularly without our committed and expanding team of volunteers. Come to this section to find out more about ways you can get involved with CMF’s ministry and get trained as you do so!
Your wellbeing is important to us. In the face of unprecedented pressures on health services around the world, CMF seeks to pursue the mission of uniting and equipping Christian health professionals to live and speak for Jesus. The CMF Pastoral Care and Wellbeing team are available daily for members to listen and pray when you need support with the challenges you are facing or to give encouragement for you to grow and flourish in Christ in your healthcare role.
