The Christian Medical Fellowship is a community of 5,000 qualified and student members working in medicine, nursing, and midwifery across the British Isles. Our aim is to unite and equip Christian health professionals to live and speak for Jesus Christ.
what we do
growing
We seek to grow authentic disciples of Jesus in healthcare through training courses in evangelism and witness, global mission, health, and justice, and speaking in the public square.
We have a network of Pastoral Partners across the UK to support our members spiritually through listening, praying, and onward referral to other services.
We also encourage and support mentoring relationships between the newly qualified and more senior Christian professionals.
We run three to four major national weekend conferences each year, numerous local day conferences and a week-long mission training and clinical updating conference.
encouraging
We encourage praying Christian communities in every healthcare setting through our national network of Catalyst Teams and a growing network of workplace fellowships.
advancing
We advance global partnerships to bring healing and wholeness to every nation. We are an active member of the International Christian Medical and Dental Association (ICMDA) and Nurses Christian Fellowship International (NCFI) and Global Connections.
In addition to the training courses already mentioned, we are in regular contact with members serving long or short-term in mission, aid, and development contexts as health professionals, and with nationals and national networks of Christian health professionals through NCFI and ICMDA.
walking
We walk with Christian health professionals throughout their careers, from students, through junior grades after qualification, mid-career, and on into retirement. We have a number of specialty networks, run a students, juniors, and seniors conference, seek to encourage local and peer networks between Christian health professionals.
We produce a range of regular publications for students, nurses, and midwives, and for all our membership, and one or two books each year on issues at the interface of Christianity and healthcare.
advocating
Finally, we advocate for the marginalised and promote Christian values in healthcare. We produce papers and blogs on a range of ethical and professional issues to keep members informed, make regular submissions to government, and think tank inquiries into ethical issues in healthcare public policy, speak to the secular and Christian media on health issues, and support members to speak for Jesus in the public square.
Read our latest Annual Report to see what we have been doing in the last year and how we use the money entrusted to us by our members.
