Learn how to get your message across to your readers, including practical exercises and opportunity for feedback. This training day has been fundamental in equipping our members to write for Spotlight magazine over the years and we’re always looking for new contributors, but these skills will also be transferable for those writing for magazines, blogs and other written resources.

        Some feedback from participants last year:
        ‘Beyond my expectations. You provided helpful content/resource, but I hadn’t anticipated the joy and encouragement it would also bring. God has met with us today and it has been a real blessing.’

        Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

        We are delighted to invite you to our Annual Dinner, which will be held on Friday, October 4, 2024, at St Edmund Hall in Oxford. This event has run now for some years and is a lovely way to connect with other Christian healthcare professionals, welcoming new colleagues as well as catching up with old friends. The evening will begin with pre-dinner drinks at 7:00 PM, followed by the meal at 7:30 PM.

        The cost for the evening is £50 per person. We understand that this may be a significant expense for some, so we are pleased to offer bursaries to ensure that everyone who wishes to attend can do so. If the cost is prohibitive for you, please do not hesitate to apply for a bursary by emailing oxford@cmf.org.uk. If you are approved for a bursary, you will still need to buy a ticket here but will be reimbursed by CMF.

        To help keep the cost at £50 per head and to cover the bursaries, we are also seeking sponsorship. If you or someone you know would be interested in contributing, we would greatly appreciate your support. Please donate using our stewardship page and use ‘Oxford dinner donation’ as the reference/in the special message box. Any surplus donations after paying for the dinner will go to meeting the cost of CMF Carol Service on 9 December.         However, the medical literature increasingly recognises the important link between spirituality and health and GMC guidelines approve discussion of faith issues with patients provided it is done appropriately and sensitively. This Saline online course will address this topic and help us live for and share Christ in our workplaces.

        This practical and interactive course will include a mix of teaching and small group discussion, with opportunities to pray for one another.

        The Lord is a God of justice (Isaiah 30:18).

        And so, his followers long for justice. In a world full of injustice, we need his justice, proclaim his justice, and live out his justice.

        Over three talks, we’ll dig into what Isaiah teaches about God’s justice, our injustice, his solution in the justice of the Cross of Jesus, and what it means to live and speak for Jesus and justice today.

        Main speaker | Giles Cattermole

        Giles works part-time as an Emergency Medicine consultant and part-time for a church in London. He was previously the CMF Head of Student Ministries and, more recently, the UCCF London Team Leader. He trained in Oxford and Wales, has worked in academic emergency medicine in Hong Kong and Rwanda, and was the founding chair of the RCEM global emergency medicine committee. Giles is married to Victoria and has four children. He is also a keen cruciverbalist.

      • Discipleship - to unite Christian healthcare professionals and students in Christ and encourage them to deepen their faith, live like Christ and serve him obediently, particularly through acting competently and with compassion in their professional practice.
