Things to Pray for
- Begin with praise. Acknowledge who God is and spend time to recall what he has done, does and is doing, thanking Him for this.
- Consider the current experience of the health service for patients and staff and ask God to be at work in these situations.
- Be honest before God as you bring the joys and the sorrows of the health service before Him and yet expectant that God can and does answer prayer.
- Pray for the patients and their families who are struggling with ill health, wearied by challenges in accessing healthcare and/ or experiencing delays in treatment.
- Pray for staff across the health services in the UK and Ireland. Pray particularly for the weary, stressed, burnt-out, and disillusioned. Pray that Healthcare Professionals would reflect God’s heart for humanity.
- Think of specific situations in healthcare and health policy where we ask for God to in wrath remember mercy and bring these to Him in prayer.
- Finish with thanks that God is at work in our day and for who He is.
