Demilade’s story

One of the great privileges of working with CMF over the years has been watching students arrive at their first conference, grow in confidence and faith, and then step into various leadership roles. It is a powerful reminder that when we invest in students and young professionals, we are shaping the next generation of Christian leaders in healthcare.
One such student is Demilade
Demilade encountered CMF at a pudding party during her first year. Amidst cakes, ice cream, and doughnuts, she found fellowship amongst doctors and students who loved Jesus.
By her third year, she was prayer secretary for the Nottingham CMF group, and for the last two years, she has served as a representative on the CMF National Student Council, of which she has been Chair this year.
Why has she poured so much time and energy into CMF?
CMF encourages people to live out their faith in the workplace. And while Christian health professionals are relatively privileged, it is so powerful to have an organisation that unites and equips us as we care for people in their most vulnerable and difficult moments, filled with a compassion that doesn’t just come from our humanity, but from God.
I’ve met some of my closest friends through CMF; friends who just exude the love and compassion of Jesus in such a beautiful way. That’s what I love most about CMF: being connected to all these different people who together are the family of Christ.
For Demilade — as with hundreds of students each year — CMF has been a crucial source of training, mentoring, discipleship, and leadership development. And this is exactly what your support enables.
What Your Giving Makes Possible
Bringing students like Demilade into a supportive Christian community and uniting and equipping them as leaders requires a dedicated team:
- Support and discipleship – our Student Team invests countless hours in uniting, mentoring, teaching, and equipping students to grow in faith and leadership.
- National Student Conference – our most significant touchpoint each year, where many make or deepen commitments to Christ and where future leaders are first inspired. Subsidising one student’s attendance costs just £50.
- Leadership development and training – including student rep training, mentoring, and leadership tracks at our National Conference. Training one student leader costs £200.
- Growing CMF Groups across the UK – strengthening Christian witness in universities and hospitals by equipping local leaders and volunteers.
Every student we train and support is an investment not just in their academic years but in their long-term ministry as Christian health professionals in the UK, Ireland, and beyond.
Your giving will support all our work, uniting and equipping Christian health professionals to live and speak for Jesus.
