The Pediatric Specialist plans and carries out medical care program for children from birth through the age of 13 years and 364 days to aid in mental and physical growth and development: Examines patients to determine presence of disease and to establish preventive health practices. Determines nature and extent of disease or injury, prescribes and administers medications and immunizations, and performs variety of medical duties. Pediatric Specialist renders appropriate care for pediatric patients in the outpatient clinic, inpatient ward, NICU (depending on privileges) and in those cases where a referral to a tertiary care center is more appropriate, shall contact the consultant and arrange referral/transfer to these centers.
