autumn 2009 cmf appeal
Building stronger fellowship and community - £150,000 needed
2009 has been a great year for CMF: highlights have included our biggest student conference and student leaders' conference ever; the launch of a new programme to mobilise and support doctors working abroad; the defeat of attempts to legalise assisted suicide and a rich and varied conference programme. Our staff team is gifted and committed and our administrative systems are strong.
Our new video CMF Now, recently mailed to members, gives a good overview of our current work.
We continue to be grateful to God for his provision to us and for your generous partnership. However, as we look forward to next year, we do face a significant financial challenge. Despite our controlling expenditure well within budget we, like most charities facing the 'credit crunch', have had a significant shortfall in budgeted income and are heading for a budget deficit of about £25,000 by year end.
Knowing that many members prefer the flexibility of giving in response to specific appeals rather than regularly, we had already planned at the beginning of this year to raise £100,000 through this autumn appeal (we raised over £185,000 last year). With our shortfall in income cancelling out our savings on expenditure, we now need to raise about £150,000 both to break even this year and also to provide a platform for new developments.
