Global Track and overseas trips

CMF's fourth Global Track has started! Do pray for the 14 participants and the mentors supporting them after our introductory weekend at All Nations Christian College in September. Global Track is an 18-month programme to help Christian health professionals explore their calling to global mission. Find out more at cmf.li/GlobalTrack

Forthcoming overseas trips

CMF Global organises visits to overseas healthcare mission partners to allow members to grasp a vision of how they might serve God in global health and mission, short or longer-term. We organise the visits in conjunction with well-established mission and health organisations in each country.

Northern Iraq: join us on a trip to encourage our brothers and sisters in Health Outreach Middle East as we serve the needs of refugees and internally displaced people. The eight-day trip is planned for early April.

United Arab Emirates: join us to catch a vision for how we can serve in a Christian hospital in the Middle East. Many specialties are required! Dates 3-10 March 2023.

Please register your interest or chat about these trips, email Fi McLachlan (Head of CMF Global) at fi@cmf.org.uk

Christian workplace groups

Christian workplace groups are a fantastic opportunity for prayer and fellowship - to be part of a Christian healthcare community to encourage and spur one another on in Christ, and to pray for your workplace.

We are very grateful to Dr Karen Flood for her role as CMF Workplace Associate over the past year, and we wish her all the best in the new season that God has for her. But there is still much work to be done to build more workplace fellowships. If you feel you have a passion and calling in this area, please do get in touch.

Also, if you know of any Christian workplace groups in your area, please contact the CMF Field Team Administrator at marolin.watson@cmf.org.uk. We would love to be able to compile a database of workplace groups for our members.

Praying for General Practice

Following an impromptu prayer gathering for GPs at CMF's National Conference, CMF has now hosted two national online prayer gatherings for General Practice. For many in primary care, the current season is particularly challenging. High workload and a recruitment crisis, among other pressures, contribute to stress and low morale. The online prayer gatherings provide a safe space for those in General Practice to share openly with colleagues facing similar situations. It has been the experience of those who have participated that praying with other colleagues has helped decrease isolation and been a source of encouragement.

Keep an eye out on the CMF website for further initiatives to pray for General Practice and respond to the challenges experienced in primary care. Please get in touch with Felicia Wong (felicia.wong@cmf.org.uk) if you would like to know more or if you would like to develop a similar initiative for your specialty.

Catalyst Teams

We now have 16 active Catalyst Teams across the UK, seeking to be the hands, feet, and face of CMF locally. The latest team is in Wessex, led by Roy Edward. Roy says: 'I am trusting in the Lord to powerfully use this new Catalyst Team to better unite and equip the Christian healthcare staff of this deanery.'

At the Catalyst Teams online gathering on 10 September, we heard of a range of initiatives, including friendship meals, retreats, and regional day conferences (East Midlands and Oxford). We have a new Catalyst Teams intranet, have launched the mentoring scheme through local networks, and are preparing for our new face-to-face pre-conference at Yarnfield Park from 20-21 April 2023. We want to see a Catalyst Team in every area of the UK to bring the best of national CMF to every locality.

For more details about Catalyst Teams and to consider one in your area, please email volunteer@cmf.org.uk
