liturgy for a revalidation prayer

Victoria Hutchinson shares a prayer to pray as you face revalidation

Lord, do I have to keep proving my worth
Again and again
When you tell me to still my striving,
find my identity in you?

So much paper
So many boxes to fill
So much time required
So much resentment in my heart
So much to do
Three years to do

Oh Lord

Reawaken in me the mind of a student
Eyes open, absorbing, hungry for more
Veil my negativity, cast
Aside the voices that moan
Let words, experiences, reflections
Inspire me
Dancing across the pages
As I remember all you have given me
Those relationships and patients, colleagues and shifts
Intimate moments of care
Oh Lord, precious gifts from you
Names engraved on your very heart

Please help me to carve out the space and time
Required by my profession
At this time of revalidation
You have chosen this path for me
Every part of it becomes (part of) my service to you
Refine me, my Lord, some more

Amen
