Tony had a truly global ministry, teaching and examining in countries across Africa and the Middle East with the Royal College of Surgeons (RCS) of England, RCS in Ireland, Oxford University, and the Edinburgh Global Health Academy. Since 2010, he had been a tutor with PRIME (Partnerships in International Medical Education) and taught surgery and leadership in Rwanda, Ethiopia, Kenya and Israel.

Tony was known for his generosity and love, going above and beyond to serve those he cared for and taught.

He was on a walking holiday in Italy with his wife, Jane, when he collapsed, dying a few days later in Oxford.
